Popular Questions

Whether you’re a first time agency worker, or a senior leader seeking support with your SEN/D staffing needs, we are here to help you along the way; here are some common Q & A’s to get you started. If you are unable to find the information you need, please give us a call on 0208 226 0091

The first step is to make sure that you have all of the relevant documents ready for the pre-registration stage of the process; one of our experienced consultants will then call you to discuss your experience and what roles we have that might fit your criteria.

Contrary to popular belief, working with Ability SEN is actually not more expensive than hiring your own staff in house, especially once you bring on-costs into the calculations which normally total around 23-25% of an employee’s salary. Ability SEN endeavours to provide you members of staff who behave and perform like permanent members of staff, at the same or very similar cost as a permanent member of staff

Ability SEN will always try to place you within a maximum  30 to 40 mins commute from your home, but if you have any special requirements then please speak to your dedicated consultant and they will make sure the details are logged on our central database for future reference.

We do not offer daily supply staff ordinarily, but we do have staff awaiting deployment into long term placements who can cover on occasion dependant on the time of year. Feel free to call us with any emergency cover needs you may have and we will try our best to help!

To work with Ability SEN there are 2 elements which are key

1) Qualifications/Education- We have a minimum education level required of level 2 in a UK teaching assistance course (STLLS or Childcare etc..) and all staff must have at least GCSE Maths and English as a minimum

2) Experience- If you have experience and no qualifications then we can still assist you, helping you to gain the qualifications you need ensuring that you are employable moving forward with your career. Some employers are OK with experience without qualifications or minimum education levels but as an agency we are held to a higher standard by our clients.
